BLB&G sponsors the Forum for Institutional Investors, an educational conference for the benefit of the institutional investor community.

The Forum for Institutional Investors - October 2009

The Forum for Institutional Investors is the premier annual conference in the field, providing a unique learning and networking opportunity by coupling educational day sessions with exciting evening events showcasing New York City.  Our next Forum, which will be held in New York City in October 2009, is currently in the planning stage. Please refer to the Forum website (link below) for up to date information on the event.

The Forum explores vital issues affecting the institutional investor community including:

  • How the credit crisis is impacting the international financial community, and how the regulatory and legal landscapes affecting your holdings are changing.
  • The limitations faced by foreign investors when pursuing securities litigation in the U.S.
  • The rising tide of shareholder activism and what it means for institutional investors and public companies
  • How to maximize shareholder value in the transactional context
  • The position of the U.S. capital markets in an increasingly competitive global marketplace

Our last Forum took place on October 23-24, 2008 at The New York Palace Hotel in New York City and featured an esteemed international faculty discussing key issues affecting the investment industry in light of the credit crisis and the changing political landscape.  Among them were representatives from the political, legal, academic, media and business sectors, including Paul Sarbanes, former U.S. Senator and Co-Author of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act; Harvey Pitt, CEO of Kalorama Partners and former SEC Chairman; and Professor Harvey Goldschmid, Dwight Professor of Law at Columbia University and former SEC Commissioner, among many others.  Additionally, media personalities and political commentators, James Carville & Mary Matalin, treated Forum guests to a colorful analysis of the 2008 presidential election.
