For the second year in a row, BLB&G partner Max Berger and former partner Sean Coffey were named to The Best Lawyers in America Guide. The Guide, touted as the “oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession” is a compilation of “outstanding attorneys” nationwide.
Messrs. Berger and Coffey were named to the list as leading lawyers in the field of Commercial Litigation of Securities for 2008 and 2009. Founding partner Max Berger was also selected as a top lawyer in Professional Malpractice Law, relating to Accountants and Professional Liability.
Messrs. Berger and Coffey have also received numerous other prominent rankings internationally for their achievements. Among other accomplishments, they served as co-lead counsel for the New York State Common Retirement Fund in the landmark In re WorldCom, Inc. Securities Litigation, which yielded an unprecedented recovery for defrauded investors of over $6.15 billion, and together with firm partners, have obtained over $20 billion on behalf of firm clients.
