On November 7, 2022, BLB&G Law Clerk Tyler Yagman will co-chair and serve as a panel leader at the New York City Bar Association’s Blockchain Institute 2022. This in-person CLE event is the first of its kind for the NYCBA and will provide an opportunity for attorneys to better understand the current legal issues that impact the development and use of blockchain technology and digital assets.
Tyler’s panel, “What is a Security Token and Why it Matters,” is one of six areas of discussion to be brought forth by experts across the legal field in an effort to demystify this rapidly changing sector. Speakers will discuss the nuanced regulatory frameworks involving securities, commodities, banking, and taxation within the U.S. and abroad. Special emphasis will be placed on exploring the successes and pitfalls of piecemeal regulation, as well as how guidance and foreign regulators could shape future U.S. policies.
