Julien Visconti serves as BLB&G’s Senior Advisor for European Investor Relations. An esteemed expert on securities litigation, stock market fraud, and white-collar crime, Julien is part of the team that advises the firm’s European institutional investor clients on opportunities to recoup investment losses and establish corporate governance improvements through securities class actions and fiduciary duty and corporate governance litigation. Based in France, Julien has extensive experience advising and representing institutional investors. As an attorney and former equity derivatives trader, Julien possesses both extensive legal experience and a deep understanding of financial markets.

Julien has represented investors in several high-profile shareholder activism cases in France, generating billions in shareholder value. Notably, Julien served as lead counsel for French activist fund CIAM in its challenge to Vivendi’s €10 billion demerger project and represented Esso shareholders in a derivative action involving ExxonMobil Corp. Julien also played a pivotal role in Euro Disney’s derivative action against The Walt Disney Company, leading to new case law in favor of minority shareholders in France. In addition, Julien’s litigation efforts have driven key legislative reforms on management compensation guidelines and the length of appeals before the Autorité des marchés financiers (French “AMF”).  Notably, he was instrumental in ending double prosecutions for financial crimes through a successful appeal to France’s Constitutional Court.

In 2025, coinciding with his arrival at BLB&G, Julien established “Visconti,” a new boutique law firm specializing in financial litigation, corporate governance, shareholder rights, and financial fraud. Prior to establishing Visconti, Julien was a managing partner at Visconti, Grundler & Artuphel in Paris, where he represented institutional and high-net-worth investors in high-profile securities actions involving takeover litigation, shareholder activism, and white-collar defense. Previously, he served as an associate attorney at Metzner & Associés, as a director and asset manager at Boussard & Gavaudan Asset Management, and as an associate and equity derivatives trader at Goldman Sachs International and Natixis.

A respected thought leader and advocate of shareholder rights and good corporate governance, Julien teaches ESG shareholder activism at Sciences Po Paris. Julien earned his master’s degree in management from ESSEC Business School, one of the preeminent business schools in France, and master’s degrees in business law and criminal law, with honors, from Université Paris II (Panthéon-Assas). Julien is admitted to the Paris bar.
