BLB&G has been honored by Top Verdict for obtaining one of the “Top 10 Verdicts” in the United States in 2023. The award highlights the case against Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the Federal Housing Finance Agency (“FHFA”), in which the firm achieved an $812 million judgment for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac shareholders. During trial, BLB&G’s attorneys convinced the jury that the FHFA had improperly utilized a “net worth sweep” to transfer the companies' net worth to the U.S. Treasury, causing a significant decline in the value of Fannie and Freddie’s stock.
