On May 8, 2024, BLB&G senior counsel Catherine van Kampen will serve as Program Co-Chair and Moderator at the American Bar Association 2024 International Law Section Annual Conference. Catherine will lead a panel discussion titled "Cyber Exploitation and Discrimination in the Digital Age and Its Disparate Impact on Women, Children, and Religious, Racial, and Ethnic Minorities."
Joined by human rights thought leaders, Catherine will guide the conversation on the legal and regulatory challenges posed by largely unregulated global tech companies. Topics include cyber exploitation, digital harassment, and the amplification of discrimination and biases.
The panel features a distinguished group of experts, including Imran Ahmed (CEO, Center for Countering Digital Hate US/UK), Dani Pinter (Senior Legal Counsel, NCOSE Law Center), Anne Speckhard (Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Georgetown University School of Medicine), and Yiota G. Souras (Chief Legal Officer, National Center for Missing Children).
