On April 27, 2022, BLB&G Partner Rebecca Boon will serve as a moderator for the Beyond #MeToo Working Group Event, "The Enduring Effects of #MeToo," along with Shearman & Sterling Partner Daniel Lewis. The event will feature a conversation with Carmelyn Malalis, Former Chairperson and Commissioner at the New York City Commission on Human Rights; Emily Martin, Vice President for Education and Workplace Justice at National Women’s Law Center; Maria Cruz Melendez, Deputy Chief, Civil Rights Section, United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York; and Renee Tirado, Former Global Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Gucci, and will focus on the long-term effects of the #MeToo movement.
The Beyond #MeToo Working Group was co-founded by Rebecca Boon, Daniel Lewis, and BLB&G Associate Alla Zayenchik, among others, and is dedicated to understanding the root causes of workplace harassment, discrimination, and misconduct; tracking and constructively utilizing the insights gained through the #MeToo movement; and helping to create the optimal corporate compliance and management structures that prevent workplace misconduct and abuses of power.
