BLB&G Partners Christopher Orrico and Tom James will serve as guest lecturers at Villanova University's Charles Widger School of Law on November 21. They will lead a discussion titled “Policing Fiduciary Duties Under Enhanced Scrutiny—The Stockholder Perspective,” which will focus on poison pills and buyer favoritism within the context of significant corporate governance cases.
Christopher focuses on breach of fiduciary duty litigation against boards and executives as part of the firm's Corporate Governance practice. He has played a leading role in recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for investors and upholding shareholder rights in high-profile cases such as In re Mindbody, Inc. Stockholders Litigation and In re Columbia Pipeline Group, Inc., among others. Christopher frequently serves as a university guest lecturer, recently contributing to the course “Business Associations” at Duke Law School.
Tom prosecutes corporate governance and fiduciary duty litigation on behalf of the firm's institutional investor clients. He is currently a member of the teams prosecuting Fischel v. Liberty Media, et al., In re Lordstown Motors Corp. Stockholders Litigation, and Newbold v. McCaw et al. (“AstraSpace”), among other matters. Most recently, Tom was named to the prestigious 2024 “Lawdragon 500 X – The Next Generation” list.
